We had Amidy's pictures taken the other day and here are a few of my favorites!!! If you don't know what the letters are for we are spelling Amidy. All we have left is the "Y" and that will be when she is 12 months!!! Thanks to my best friend Cassie for taken these pictures she does an AWESOME job!!!

So...we finally got around to taking the kiddos to see Santa!!! As you can tell Amidy didn't know what to think of Santa. She did good. I mean compared to the other kids in front of us. Those parents had a time getting a good picture and they finally settled for the arching of the back and the kid crying trying to get out of Santa's lap. Luckily, Amidy did this little fake cry and the photographer started snapping pictures and the flash caught her eye so that was it for the crying. We could have gotten a really good picture with her smiling too but I thought we needed to get this one to remember she did get upset and she had to have her big brother hold her. If you notice she is grabbing Austin's shirt like...help me! I love her red face and the look! Austin and Santa both have great smiles!!! We took them to Park Place Mall because Austin had baseball pitching and hitting lessons at 5. (Don't worry Austin had a change of clothes and a ball cap in the car.)

Both of them swapped from the saxophone to different instruments.

JV plays the baritone and Austin plays the trombone.

Austin is now in the Jr. High Band. He plays the Trombone and loves it! When he joined the beginner band in 6th grade he played the saxophone which Doc played when he was in the band. Mr. Alloway the band director needed more low brass and less saxophones so he asked Austin if he wanted to swap and he did.

On Saturday December 12th Austin took the ACT. Doc took him to breakfast and then to Decatur High School were Austin would take the test. The test was from 8am until 11:40am. Doc and I picked him up after the test and took him out for lunch and a movie. So he could relax his brain! Austin did say that it was the hardest test he has ever taken!!! Doc and I tried to prepare him by telling him that and that he's only a 7th grader and you haven't been taught most of the stuff that is on there. Austin did say that the math part had a lot of Trig on there. Which Austin won't be able to take until his a junior! By taken this test as a 7th grader it was for the experience but either way I'm sure he is thankful it is over. We went and saw the Blind Side...Great Movie!!! Amidy was still sick so Nana came over and watched her so Doc and I could spend the day with Austin. We are very proud of him!!!

Finally I got somewhat a smile! Daddy was squirting me with my ducky!

So this week has been a busy one. Monday Austin has guitar. Tuesday Austin has baseball pitching lessons. Wednesday is church. Thursday Austin has after school band practice. Friday Doc and I were planning on shopping. Saturday Austin takes his ACT and Sunday is the Christmas program at church, Amberleigh's 3rd Birthday Party and Austin's band concert at 2. So, back to Thursday December 10th Amidy and I had to pick brother up from after school band practice at 4 o'clock everything seemed to be going smooth until we got home. I was fixing her dinner so she was in her highchair and Austin was in the kitchen looking for something to snack on before we ate and I heard this awful cough so I looked at Austin and said "are you getting sick?" and he said "that wasn't me!" I thought to myself wow that was an awful cough for somebody so little. So I felt her head and she felt warm so I took her temperature and well it was 101. She had no red cheeks or ears no weak looking eyes. This came on so fast! I looked at the clock and it was of coarse after 5! I tried anyway to call Dr. Khouri (our pediatrician) but it was after hours so I had to page the on call physician which happened to be Dr. Hull. (who I don't really care for.) Dr. Hull called me back and he said Tylenol and yellow triaminic. Which of coarse, I was already giving her Tylenol but yellow triaminic we didn't have. So I called Doc who is in class and I told him after class I need him to pick some yellow triaminic up. Long story short....Yellow Triaminic has been discontinued about a year and a half ago!!! Wait to go Dr. Hull! So I told Doc we would wait until the morning and see Dr. Khouri and we did. They tested her for RSV, flu and pneumonia and all of them came back negative. Good news! So he did a chest x-ray and she had some bronchial congestion and a mild case of the croup! So Amidy was put on a liquid steroid (Orapred) and Amoxil. The liquid steroid Amidy threw up the first time she was given it and the second time she gagged so I called Dr. Khouri back and he swapped her to the dissolving Orapred tablets. Amidy doesn't like them either but at least if the tablet is on her tongue and she is trying to push it out with her tongue she is helping it dissolve and she doesn't even know it! At least Amidy made it almost to 9 months before she got sick. She is doing much better now. Here is the funny thing...Dr. Khouri and his nurses when I told them that Dr. Hull was on call they said "Let me guess Dr. Hull recommended yellow triaminic!" I said "Yes, how did you know?" He tells everyone to use yellow triaminic and tylenol.

Today was the day...Finally!!! I have been asking and waiting patiently for this day. Finally, Doc agreed to get her ears pierced!!! He wanted to get them done at a jewelry store but there isn't a jewelry store around here that pierces ears anymore. So, it was either Wal-mart or Claire's. We decided Claire's. Actually, it was Icing by Claire's but whatever. We went to Bridge Street in Huntsville to get them pierced. Amidy did very well. She really didn't cry that much. She had just ate so she was very sleepy. When we left she laid her head on my shoulder to sleep. So overall, it was not a traumatic experience it was quite easy!

Austin was out of school October 12th and 13th for fall break so we decided to make a day trip and go to Desoto Falls on the 12th but when we woke up Monday morning it was raining!!! I know....Rain, that's a shock! So, then instead of cancelling our day trip we decided to go to Scottsboro and go to Unclaimed Baggage since neither Doc nor I had ever been. That was a very neat store we found a few things for cheap. That was Great! Of coarse, when we get to Scottsboro it wasn't raining so Doc says that Fort Payne is only about 50 miles away so we still could go to DeSoto Falls but of coarse we didn't bring the camera because we were just going shopping and now we are going to the falls. That is why these pictures are not great quality. They are from Austin's cell phone. At least, we have these pictures. This day trip thought me one thing and that is always carry my camera you never know where you will end up! :)

We had a GREAT Soccer season!!! We won the U-12 Morgan County Championship!!! Which means we are the BEST U-12 team in all of Morgan County!!! This also means the kids will have their names put on a sign showing they are the 2009 U-12 Morgan County Soccer Champion as you enter North park!!! This is a BIG accomplishment....wait to go Priceville Panthers!!!

OK....I wanted to take a minute to brag on Austin. We got a letter the other day from the Principal's office that basically stated that Austin had made higher than 95% on the SAT test and it qualified Austin to participate in the highly-selective Duke University Talent Identification Program 7th grade Talent search. Which means that Austin as a 7th grader is able to take either the ACT or the SAT. These tests are tests that you would take as an admission process into college. We as parents are super excited about the opportunity that this will be for Austin. This will allow him a better understanding of his academic abilities by comparing his performance with other students. Plus, he will get to see what he needs to learn before he takes these tests in a few years when he is closer to going to college! All I can say is that we are super proud of him!!!

I'm having pictures made of Amidy at 3 months with the letter "A", 5 months with the letter "M", 7 months with the letter "I", 9 months with the letter "D" and finally at 12 months the letter "Y" so within her first year of life when she will be changing so much we will have captured her changing with the letters of her name and at the end my photography best friend Cassie will put something together spelling out her name and I'll probably use it for her 1st birthday invitations!!! My friend Cassie does an AWESOME job at photography!!! Thanks for letting me post these pictures too. I love to show off her work!!!

We had a wonderful time at the first Auburn football game. We tailgated with my cousin Tracey and her husband Chris. Some of Doc's friends stopped by also. Amidy has just figured out that she can suck on her toes...it's too funny!!! These pictures were after bath time and before I could put her pj's on she had her big toe in her mouth sucking on it. Austin's 1st soccer game was Saturday the 8th at 9:30am. It was extremely HOT!!! The heat index was suppose to be over 100 in the heat of the day. The soccer association will cancel games if the temperature or heat index is over 100 during the time the game is suppose to be played. Unfortunately, the temperature was only around 90 when we were playing so the kids and parents were just baking in the heat! We ended up with a tie 3 to 3. Austin had an assist.

Ok today Amidy and I went to Cassie's to pick up our pictures and I wanted to hold Reid so I laid Amidy down on Cassie's boppy when Cassie said "have you ever tried her in a bumbo seat?" My answer was no and I thought she was getting to old for one now. Cassie quickly pulled Reid's out and said lets try it and see how she likes it and well she loved it! So as soon as we left her house I was going to Target to get her one. Well, it was raining so I told Doc about it and he stopped on his way home from work and picked her one up. These seats are GREAT! She loves sitting up where she can see whats going on and I love it because I'm not having to hold her up. It is a win win.

My brother got married Saturday July18th at 6pm. This is also my aunt Laura's anniversary. Doc and I got married on July 21st my parents anniversary and my aunt Debra's birthday. Just a little information that I thought was neat. In the wedding Austin was a junior groomsmen and Taylor was the flower girl. Amberleigh and Amidy were honorary flower girls. Doc and Patrick were ushers. They had a pretty big turn out for their wedding. It was great to see friends and family that you don't get to see very often. Nana took some really good pictures with her camera so hopefully I can get them and post them also. My brother and Laurel seem really really happy. They have been dating 5 1/2 years so it was about time they got married!!! :) Kelly and I really love Laurel. She is so sweet and really completes our brother. I didn't realize that I didn't take but a couple of pictures of Laurel. Sorry. Overall, their wedding was outstanding!!!

Amidy loves the water but she likes her naps too! Amidy has already out grown her swimsuit if anyone was wondering why she didn't have one on. Her swimsuit was a 3-6 months. I guess I should have bought a 9 month. :) Amidy loves her new duck float. The movement of the water puts her to sleep everytime she is in it for a long period of time.

Saturday my grandparents came over so that my maw-maw could go shopping with Kelly and me. We had to find something to wear to Casey's wedding. Us girls got away without any kids!!! We left them with Doc and Patrick. My Paw-paw went driving around then he went by Kelly's to see her girls. He got to see Amberleigh butTaylor was at a friends. Then he came back to our house and he got to see both of my kids. Amidy had taken a good nap a woke up very happy and talking so my paw-paw was talking to her. Us girls had a great time away :)

Austin and his friend Nick practiced on their diving board tricks. Also, my sister and Taylor came out to swim too. We had so much fun! This past weekend Doc and I went out of town to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi because Doc was a groomsman in this wedding. Collin and Doc were roommates in college. This was the first time to leave Amidy. It was very tough for me. I had some separation anxiety issues but I made it fine. I knew Austin and Amidy were in great hands but just the thought of leaving them made me sick. Like I told Doc when he was offering to get her a plane ticket to take her with us I said it's only going to get harder to leave her as she gets older so if I can do this then I'll be ok and she will too plus if I take her then we would have to take Austin and I'm sure he would love to go to a wedding! (not really).

Today was the last day of the Huntsville Stars baseball camp. It was a Monday through Wednesday 9am to noon. They had limited space so only 150 campers could attend and that is how many campers that were there. The ages ranged from 6-14 and girls could attend too. Austin, Phillip and JV told me that there was only 3 girls there. These guys have had a busy three days. Monday after camp we had a tournament game at 530 in Danville. Tuesday after camp they went swimming at Jacob's house and today after camp they are going to Point Mallard. Austin has been extremly tired but he has had a BLAST at the camp!!!

For Memorial Day we went to Kelly and Patrick's for grilled hamburgers, hotdogs and homemade ice cream!!! It was GREAT. Austin had went to the movies with his grandpa Degan to see Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian. That is why Austin isn't in any of these pictures.

All I have to say is these leggings are so cute!!! I love them. Thanks to Cassie who told me about them and sent me the website where you can order them but these she saw at Target and I went and bought them. These will be great when Amidy starts to crawl. When Austin was little great grandma B made Austin's leggings out of tube socks so his knees wouldn't be rough and red. If only B had patent her idea 11yrs ago!!!

Today Taylor preformed in the Priceville Elementary School's Talent Show. She had a baton routine she did along with some other girls from her school. She did a GREAT job!!! If she stays with it she will make a wonderful majorette when she gets into high school. Austin went too because he is out of school for the summer. Austin didn't have to take his exams he made all A's all year long!!! All of his 5th grade friends were asking him why he wasn't in school. He told them he wanted to see his cousin Taylor preform and that he was out for the summer!

Here are just a few pictures that I took of Amidy with her new hairbow!!! I just love hairbows in little girls hair. She look so sweet! Yesterday Amidy went to the doctor for her two month check up. Everything with her is GREAT!!! She weighs 11lbs 3oz. She is 22 1/2 inches long so she has grew 2 1/2 inches in 2 months and she has gained 4lbs 1oz in 2months!!! She loves to eat. She is an AWESOME baby. She sleeps through the night and has been for a couple of weeks now. We are so blessed!!!

This baseball game was scheduled at 10am but as you may know around here it rains ALL the time!!! We have been lucky that the rain has only rained out one game and we made it up this week. Other Priceville teams haven't been that lucky. They have 3 and 4 makeup games due to the rain. Ok back to our game...it was delayed two hours due to the heavy rain this morning. We started our game at noon. When its nice and hot luckily it wasn't too bad humid because there was a nice breeze. This game was against Eva and it was a non-divisional game which means this game doesn't count when it comes to the placement for the tournament. So our coach was letting other kids pitch and play positions that they normal don't play just to get the experience with this being said we did lose. Austin did very good. He hit 3 for 3. He hit the 1st pitch on all his at bats. They all were solid hits to the outfield. Austin was always up to bat when we had two outs already. Austin also wasn't feeling that great he has been sneezing, coughing and a sore throat but no fever so he insisted on playing but we did get a note sent home on Friday saying that in your child's school "whooping cough" is going around!!! Are you kidding me? I thought we had eradicated whooping cough a long time ago...I guess not. Oh well, we really don't want that. We go to the doctor on Monday to get Amidy's 1st set of shots so I'll talk to the doctor about the whooping cough and see what he says about it!
Ok so I don't know why there is so much empty space between what I'm typing and the place where you can leave a comment so if anyone knows please tell me so I can stop doing it! The empty space drives me crazy!!!

Today was a Great Mother's Day!!! My boys cooked Mother's Day lunch. On the menu was fettuccine Alfredo (Doc makes a homemade sauce which is excellent) boiled shrimp Cajun style, bread and of coarse my favorite...Watermelon!!! Nana came and ate with us. We had a really good time. After lunch I went and took myself a 2 hour nap. Overall, this Mother's Day is going to be hard to top next year!

Priceville's Jr. High TAG (talented & gifted) group went on a field trip to the University of Alabama and to tour the Mercedes plant. This was a field trip that Doc wanted to go on with Austin so he did along with a bunch of other dads! Doc really wanted to tour the Mercedes plant and when they got there if you had on shorts you had to put on one of those fashionable white jumpsuits and if you had on flip flops you couldn't go on the tour. My boys both wore shorts but luckily they did wear running shoes so all they had to do was put on the jumpsuit but there was one small problem...the Mercedes plant didn't have enough jumpsuits since almost all the kids had on shorts. So the parents let the kids have the jumpsuits and didn't take the tour! How Sweet!!! I of coarse think the teacher should have told the kids to wear pants and shoes if you want to tour the plant. Austin's friend Noah had on flip flops and his dad traded his shoes for Noah's flip flops so he could take the tour. Also the TAG teacher traded her pants for a kids shorts so that girl could go on the tour. I tell you this trip wasn't very organized!!! And to top things off when Austin got home he said " Mom, I think I might want to go to the University of Alabama!" Of coarse I told him he could go where ever he wanted to go but if he went there then Dude could pay! Dude is Austin's Great Granddad and he is a huge Alabama fan. This of coarse was all in fun. All Doc and I can say is WAR EAGLE!!!

Tonight was Priceville's 1st Jr. High Spring formal. Austin's date was Abby St. John and she is a 6th grader too. They went to the dance in a limo with 9 other people all of which were 8th graders! We had to meet everybody at the school at 4:45 so they could leave and go eat at Benny's in Decatur. The dance was from 7 until 10. Come to find out Abby's mom is a neonatal nurse at Huntsville Hospital and she took care of Austin when he was born!!! What a small world :)

It is very hard to see him because we were sitting at the top of the bleachers and Austin's camera that I was using only has a limited zoom but you can just listen to how good the kids played!!! Most of them have never played an instrument until the beginnning of this school year.

This was there 3rd game and I finally remember my camera and of coarse this time Amidy didn't want to stay in the stroller like she did the first two games. It's like she knew I had the camera and wanted to take pictures. So she layed on my chest and helped keep me warm but there went any chance of getting good pictures so this is all you get. Austin played shortstop this game. He did very good. They came up short the final score was 6-4.

As you can see we put socks on her hands so she won't scratch herself even though I file her fingernails down regularly. She is a very good baby. For the most parts she sleeps 3-4 hours in between feedings.

Ok today Doc wanted to take pictures of my ever growing belly. Here is the deal I had just woke up from a nap and I told him no face pictures! I hadn't even brushed my hair. Doc being Doc he did what he wanted to do and took pictures of my whole body including my
face! He said that I look good and not to worry but he isn't pregnant and doesn't realize how unattractive I feel right now especially since I hadn't even brushed my hair after getting up from a nap. I guess everything worked out and there were some really good pictures. There is one picture that he is inbetween my legs shooting up to see if you can see my face anymore but of coarse you can't! We go to the doctor tomorrow and then again next week on Friday the 13th for our last ultrasound picture to make sure she is in the right position. Here is the good thing...I have only 37 more days and Ms. Amidy will be here!!!

The weather people finally got it right! I had told Austin that there was a chance of snow and that if it did snow that church would probably be canceled so to wake us up. So that is exactly what Austin did. He woke us up this morning saying that it was snowing and that him and Nick were going outside to play. That was a little before 7am. They know around here if it snows you have to get outside and play before it melts away! By 11am the sun was out and most of the snow had melted away. Austin and Nick had a fun time playing in the snow while it lasted.

Here are just a few pictures from my baby shower on Sunday Feb 22. We had this shower at Cassie's house at 2pm. There was about 20 friends and family that came. We had a really good time. Cassie Lawson, April Maxwell, Kristi Duran and Kelly Dean were the ladies that hosted the shower! They did an excellent job. Everything was GREAT! Ms. Amidy got a bunch of stuff that she will definitely use. The artwork of her name was done by my soon to be sister-in-law Laurel. She did an AWESOME job! It will go above her crib. Laurel is very talented so if anyone wants something like that she can do it. Thanks to everyone that came and to the ladies that hosted I appreciate everything that was done!

We had our first baby shower Thursday February 12th at 11:30 until 1 at Doc's work. We had a blast! Rick Stovall (the guy cutting the cake) cooked cheesy chicken noodle soup and corn bread muffins for everyone! It was AWESOME! Everyone was so generous we ended up with a bunch of useful things that Ms. Amidy will use and need! Thanks to everyone at Doc's work that helped put this baby shower together and for thinking of us in this very special time in our lives!!!

Priceville Lady Bulldogs Area Playoff Game

Last night Priceville's Lady Bulldogs played in an Area basketball playoff game at Priceville. Austin's 6th grade reading teacher is their coach. The school wanted a big turn out so they offered "homework passes" to the students that went to the game. Of coarse Austin wanted to go to the game and he also wanted to paint his face! So yesterday while he was at school I had to call around and find black and gold face paint. Luckily, Party Central had some. So, when Doc got home from work him and Austin discussed how he wanted his face painted. Doc painted his face and he also ended up painting Dalton's face too. Doc did an excellent job on the boys' faces! Also, this was the first time we let Austin go to a High school basketball game without us, meaning Dalton's mom took the boys and dropped them off and she went back and picked them up when it was over. Austin said "I didn't think y'all would let me go without y'all and I sure didn't think you would let me paint my face!" "I figured y'all would go and make me sit with y'all." I asked him did he not think we were cool? Why would he not want to sit with us?!!! :)

Our little girl's name will be Amidy Cole Wilder! We wanted a name that was unique. It was going to be Amity but Doc realized here in the south when you say "Amity" it usually comes out "Amidy". People tend to pronouce a "d" for a "t" so Doc said why don't we just name her Amidy. We knew the middle name would be Cole because it is Doc's middle name. So that is how we came up with her name. Here are a few things that I decided to get monogrammed for our little girl. The black bag my sister gave to us. The red bag Doc picked out. He loved the idea of a "red" bag. The Auburn blanket my sister made it!!! I know if she can make it anyone can :) lol. Also, her furniture is in her room. Doc and Austin have done an outstanding job on her room!!! I will post pictures of the nursery soon.

Here she is holding her toes with her fingers. She is breech and is facing my spine in the first two pictures. She had both legs up in a V position. I guess she is practicing her cheerleading! lol.

In this picture you can see her face if you look close enough. She was hiding her face in the placenta. So the cloud like stuff is the placenta. The last picture is a side profile. You can see her ear and her arm is covering her face. Needless to say, we went on Monday for these pictures and she didn't want any part of it so we only got the pictures of her leg, toes and hand. So we went back for a repeat on Friday and she was playing "hide-n-seek" in my placenta so you can barely she her face but what you can see she looks alot like Austin when he was a baby! She weighs 3 pounds which is more than Austin weighed and I'm 29 weeks now which means I am 2 weeks past the time when I had Austin so all is going good. I had my sugar test last week and everything is fine there too! We are just trucking along keeping her in and getting her room ready.

We had a pretty low key Christmas because Austin was sick and had been sick since Sunday night December 21st. You can tell in most of the pictures of Austin he doesn't look like he feels very good plus his skin is very pale. We have been in the doctor's office 3 times this week including today. We joked with Dr. Khouri about how we have seen him more than we have seen our families over this Christmas holiday. The doctor checked him for strep, mono, flu and meningitis. All came back negative. So, he just has a bug that has got him feeling really bad but the good thing is that it looks like he is getting better.

Finally, I'm posting more belly pictures. I know it has been a while and many have been asking where the belly pictures are so...here they are! We have been super busy with the holiday season. So taking pictures has been the last thing on my mind. So here is an update on baby Wilder. Some of the family still doesn't know what we are having until Christmas so that is why I will refer to the baby as baby Wilder. I will also be posting our 3D pictures when everyone knows what we are having. I went to the doctor today and everything is going good. I'm going every 2 weeks now as a precaution because Austin was born early. I've gained 3 pounds in two weeks! That's crazy to me but at least I can blame it on the holiday and the food that goes along with it. Plus the baby now is gaining weight at a rapid rate now. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! I just dread losing this weight after the baby. Dr. McCain said this was a very rowdy baby when we were listening to its heart rate. I could have told him that since it moves all the time! Soccer will definitely be in its future!!! lol.

Meet Koda Tripp Wilder!!!

We gave Austin an early Christmas present! It is a Shih-Tzu puppy. This is our third one of this breed. The first one died of a heart attack and the second one Austin got it for his birthday and it died a few days later. The vet said this puppy is in very good health and it is a keeper. As he put it "a third time is a charm." That is why his middle name is Tripp. (for triple or the third). His first name Koda comes from the way he looks. We think he looks like a bear or a "kodiak" grizzly bear. We are enjoying the puppy. Austin really loves him.

Our Charleston South Carolina Thanksgiving Trip

We went to Charleston, SC to visit Doc's dad and step-mom for Thanksgiving. We had so much fun!!! Here are just a few pictures of our trip. We took a carriage ride through downtown Charleston and we saw many historical homes and buildings. We also walked the streets of downtown Charleston and let Christie and Degan be the tour guides. Which I think that was the best part of the trip! We learned so much about the architecture of the homes and buildings thanks to Degan and Christie. We took a ferry to Fort Sumpter which was where the Civil war began. Austin and Degan went to Fort Moultrie while Christie gave Doc and Brandon a tour of the whole city by car meanwhile I was at the house taking a nap. I was so tired. One night we took a tour of Charleston's most haunted building...THE JAIL. The tour guide told us to take pictures because the night we went there it was a "historical night." What our tour guide was talking about was orbs! (ghosts) Supposedly, if you took pictures these orbs would show up in your pictures. Our tour guide told Austin that one of his pictures had an orb in it also Brandon had a few orbs in his pictures. Whatever! It just looked like little tiny balls of bright light in the pictures. Overall, we stayed very busy site seeing and doing the things we wanted to do and we still were unable to see everything but we had a WONDERFUL time and we would recommend going if you have never been...it's great!!!! 19 weeks and 4 days (5 months)

On November 13th we went to the doctor and it was the same routine. They weighed me, took my blood pressure, I had to pee in a cup, listened to the baby's heart beat and then we talked to the doctor. Nothing big. I've gained 4 pounds and there was a trace of protein in my urine. Which the doctor said was all normal. We saw Dr. Keller which I had never meet him before. He was very nice. He answered all of our crazy questions. The baby's heart beat was 142. Last month the baby's heart beat was 160 so now do we have anyone who wants to guess what we are having! We have an appointment December 3rd setup to do an ultrasound and find out what the baby is but I'm going to have to reschedule because Doc just told me tonight that he will be out of town the 3rd and 4th. So hopefully I will set it up sooner than later!

The Governor's Cup Soccer Tournament

The doctor released Austin to play in the soccer tournament this past weekend. He was so excited to get to play considering he had surgery just 15 days ago. Kids really do recover fast. He played very well. We played at 8am on Saturday morning against a team from Demopolis, Alabama. It was freezing cold. The field was saturated from Friday nights rain plus the rain showers on Saturday!!! Look at the kids uniforms they are nasty. You can really tell the kids who played verses the kids that didn't want to be out there because it was freezing cold and wet. My child of coarse had mud from head to toe. He had my gloves on and in them he had hot hands because he was so cold. Overall, he had a great time. They played three games and lost all three games but this was a good experience for him. These pictures are of Sunday's game because I didn't take pictures on Saturday because it was raining. This team was from Huntsville, Alabama and they hadn't been beaten. We lost to them 7-0.

Austin's Appendectomy

Here is how the whole story takes place... Thursday around 10am Austin calls me from school saying that his stomach is hurting and the nurse has no tylenol to give him. He sounded really upset on the phone. I asked him if he wanted me to bring him some tylenol or check him out and he said that he was hurting really badly and wanted me to check him out. So I did. When I got to the school and realized that he said it hurt on his lower right side and he couldn't bend down to get in his locker that is when I knew we had a problem! So I called his pediatrician they worked us in at 1. When Dr. Khouri did his exam he said he was pretty sure it was his appendix. He wanted to refer us to a Decatur surgeon. Which I said lets try a pediatric surgeon in Huntsville. Doc and I had already discuss if Austin was to have surgery we wanted it to be at Huntsville Women and Children's Hospital not Decatur General Hospital. Dr. Khouri called the pediatric surgeon Dr. Gilbert and talked to him about what to do since Austin's only symptom was the localized severe pain in the lower right side. Dr. Gilbert suggested that we have a CAT scan done and then we would know for sure if it was his appendix or not and then we could go from there. So Dr. Khouri had written an order for us to go get a CAT scan done but since we have Blue Cross Blue Sheild insurance we had to have approval first from our insurance company to make sure they would pay. BCBS told Dr. Khouri's nurse that they would NOT pay!!! (since he only had the one symptom). Crazy I know. So basically we were sent home but Dr. Khouri told us that we could go to the Pediatric ER at Huntsville and the insurance would pay. So that is what we did since when we got home Austin was still in pain. Doc and I packed a bag for "just in case" and went to the ER. We got there at 7pm and we waited in a trauma room until about 10pm when the doctor came in and said he was sure it was his appendix and he was ordering a CAT scan. So, Austin had to drink 2 glasses of contrast and sprite within 45 minutes and then they would come and get him at midnight to do the scan. Happy Halloween to us!!! They took him back and they did the scan but they had to run IV contrast too. Austin didn't handle that. He throw up. It took about an hour to get the results. The doctor said he had appendicitis and luckily the appendix hasn't rupture. He said there was about 10% infection in the appendix and the other 90% was good but anyway it had to come out. He called the pediatric surgeon which happened to be Dr. Gilbert and told him. He said Austin would be the first surgery in the morning. They admitted us and we were in our room by 3am. By the time we filled out papers for surgery and the UAB resident doctor came in to ask questions Doc and I went to sleep about 4am. Then at 5:30am the nurse was back in there getting him for surgery. Austin was sleeping good because in the ER they had given him pain medication. His surgery only lasted about an hour and then I went back when he was in recovery. He was in a lot of pain then. His first words to me as the big crocodile tears rolled down his face was "I hate this!" I hate to see him like this. He was back in his room by 9am they gave him some morphine and he was out again. When he woke up he was the funniest thing. He said some of the craziest things and when he realized his voice was raspy because of the tube that was down his throat while he was in surgery he decided he would sing!!! Of coarse when he woke up he wanted to eat. He was given jello and he said that was the best jello ever! We spent the night in the hospital Halloween night (so much for trick-or-treating even though Kelly,Patrick, Taylor and Amberleigh brought Austin a bag of Halloween candy) and we came home today around lunch. Austin is doing so much better today. Even though he is moving around like a little old man. Doctor's say he can go back to school Tuesday or Wednesday depending on how he feels. No physical activities until we go back to the back on the 11th. So soccer is out for awhile. Austin really wants to play in the Governor's Cup tournament November 14-16 but it will be up to the doctor to make that decision. We will just have to wait and see!

More belly pictures!

Today I am 16 wks and 3 days and I took some more belly pictures. I still haven't gained anymore weight since the last pictures of my belly so if the belly looks the same size it's probably because it is. If it looks bigger it's because Austin and I had just eaten Mexican food :) Doc had a coaches clinic he had to go to so Austin and I went out to dinner. It was very nice. Its funny how the belly fluctuates in size. Take for example, the two side pictures I look bigger in the last one than the middle one but from the front you can't really even see a bump. Oh but its there!!!!

Yesterday, we went to the doctor and everything is going good. We listened to the baby's heart beat again. This time there was extra noise besides the normal sound of a heart beat so I was looking at Dr. Spangler like what is all that "extra" noise. He said "All that extra noise you hear is the baby moving and it sounds like y'all are going to have a rambunctious baby!" Doc and I laughed. Then I asked what was the heart rate. He knew what I was getting at but the doctor smiled and said "a baby". I said you know what I mean. He said it was about 160 and according to old wives tale over 140 is a girl and under is a boy but for us not to go out and buy all pink yet because all of his kids were completely opposites. Doc and I laughed again because there would be no way we would go out and buy baby clothes based on the heart rate. We need picture proof! So it looks like we won't find out what we are having until the first week of December!!! Anybody want to try to guess what we are having?

Today we had the end of the season soccer party. The kids enjoyed pizza, cookie cake and fudge before they got their medals!

OK so I'm in the second trimester and everything seems to be going good except for my blood pressure is running low and it's making me feel light headed and dizzy. My blood pressure was 92/52 so I called my doctor to see what was going on. He said that some woman experience this drop in pressure around weeks 14 and 16. So I guess I'm one of the lucky women that get to experience this. He said it's due to the baby needing more of my blood supply so like Austin said "the baby is a leach!" The only thing for me to do is stay hydrated and eat protein. He did say if I was driving and felt dizzy or light headed to pull off the road. Duh! Wow I'm glad he went to medical school for that bit of important information. Anyway he said it should get better by week 20.

Austin's 1st Homecoming Dance

On October 6th Austin went with Lynsey (his girlfriend) to their first Homecoming dance. Even though it was a Monday night the dance went from 7pm until 10pm and yes they had school the next day. Crazy I know! Austin said that they had a blast.
